Speed Freak is a monochrome vector arcade game created by Vectorbeam in 1979. It is a behind-the-wheel driving simulation where the driver speeds down the computer generated road past other cars, hitchikers, trees, cows and cacti. Occasionally a plane will fly overhead towards the screen. One must avoid crashing into these objects and complete the race in the alloted time. The player can crash as many times as he wants before the time runs out and players were treated to two different crash animations. The first was a simple cracked windshield effect, the second was a crash where the car explodes into car parts that fly through the air.

Speed Freaks is a fast go-cart game in a cartoony setting, featuring six different characters and twelve different tracks. The game can be played in four different single-player modes or in multi-player mode with up to four people. Several different pick-ups and power-ups can be found and used to defeat the rivals on the track, including homing missiles, remote bombs and stealth mode.

It will take nerves of steel and lightning-fast reflexes to make your way through the crowded streets of Speed Kings. In the world of street motorcycle racing, you'll weave through traffic, pull off flashy stunts, run from police, and race to the finish line. Your high-performance bikes--including sport, road, touring, and custom models--each have their own type of handling and top speeds. Perform jumps, power-downs, skids, wheelies, and stoppies, but be careful--failed attempts at these tricks result in real-time damage to both bike and rider.

Released as Speed Freaks in Europe, Speed Punks is a kart-style racer starring six miniature miscreants who compete on 12 themed courses, ranging from a moonlit cove to a neon city. Each vehicle is individually rated in top speed, weight, collision recovery, and acceleration. After selecting a character, you can choose from the following five play modes: Tournament, Single Race, Time Attack, Versus, and Multiplayer. Tournament is a four-event race on one of three difficulty settings, where you'll need to finish in the top three to advance. Collect power-ups and weapons found along each course to improve your chances. The 11 items include missiles, bombs, speed boosts, a machine gun, stealth mode, slime, and more. Up to four players can race against each other via split-screen display. Complete various milestones to unlock bonus features and hidden play modes.

Speed Racer is an English adaptation name of the Japanese manga and anime, Mach Go Go Go which centered on automobile racing. Mach GoGoGo was originally serialized in print form in Shueisha's 1958 Shonen Book, and was released in tankobon book form by Sun Wide Comics, re-released in Japan by Fusosha. . Based on the popular cartoon, Speed Racer joins the plethora of racing games available for the PlayStation. As Speed Racer himself, you can race on three different tracks simply titled S, M and L for small, medium and large. Before beginning a race you must choose between three slight variations of Speed Racer's famous white Mach 5, one of which has manual transmission. Each of the three cars is equipped with special features such as grip tires, rotary saws, a periscope, a deflector and auto jacks. Other options include 18 different soundtracks, normal and endurance racing modes and the ability to increase the speed and efficiency of your opponents.

This game is a take on the classic Anime cartoon series, Speed Racer. You play as Speed, an aspiring race car driver with his trusty car, The Mach 5, along with his GO team, out to travel the world and win every international grand prix on the circuit. Along the way, you fight off the infamous villains of the series, out to stop Speed by any means necessary, even capturing his girlfriend, Trixie. There are seven levels in all and in between racing levels you'll be on foot in a side-scroll style adventure, fighting off thugs and gangsters, collecting power ups to help you out, including green flags in order to keep your health up (not kidding about that).

Terrorists have taken Super Joe's family and a number of townspeople hostage. You must drive your gun-equipped car through dangerous streets to free the hostages and collect power-ups. If your vehicle is severely damaged, you may jump free and continue to fight on foot.

The original future sport game, Speedball is played out on a small court with five players on each team, making it more frantic than the more famous sequel. The ball must be thrown into the goal at your opponent's end. Any amount of physical contact can be made, and there are no illegal ways to get the ball or the goal. Before each match you can bribe the referee into awarding you a head-start or strengthening the abilities of your players. You compete in a simple knockout cup tournament, or in individual 2-player games.
