Similar to the You Don't Know Jack series of games, Twisted: The Game Show is a trivia challenge game for up to 4 players. The game offers a humorous mix of live character video and computer graphics. After an introduction by the host Twink Fizzdale, you can select your personality by viewing video clips of the various characters egging you on to select them. You advance or retreat through the game board based on your responses to various puzzles, mini-games and trivia questions.

Twisted Metal: Small Brawl is a vehicular combat game in which the player takes control of one of twelve unique remote control vehicles. While in control of a vehicle, the player can accelerate, steer, brake, reverse, activate the turbo, turn tightly, toggle between and activate weapons using the game controller's d-pad, analog sticks and buttons.

The latest installment in the multi-million selling franchise provides a variety of gameplay options, as gamers can go head-to-head or compete against the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deliver the devastation as they strap themselves into one of 14 lethal machines on wheels equipped with machine guns, turbo boosts and special attacks unique to each vehicle.

Twisted Metal: Black is a demolition derby that permits the usage of ballistic projectiles. Players choose a vehicle and an arena—or a series of arenas in the story mode—to engage in battle with opposing drivers. A variety of weapons and upgrades are obtainable by pick-ups scattered throughout the stage. The objective of the game is to be the last one standing.

Twisted Metal III is the third installment in the Twisted Metal series and the first installment to be fully developed by 989 Studios. The game's plot is centered on the titular competition in which various drivers in modified vehicles must destroy the other vehicles in an attempt to be the last one alive. The winner meets the organizer of the competition, a mysterious man named Calypso, who will grant the winner a single wish, regardless of price, size or even reality. Twisted Metal III received generally negative reviews from critics, who criticized the game's level design and physics engine but commented positively on the multiplayer gameplay and soundtrack by Rob Zombie and Pitchshifter. However, the game was commercially successful, selling 1.14 million copies in the United States alone.

A young Sweet Tooth finds himself amazed by the contest and runs off in its pursuit, entering and eventually winning. As his wish, he desires to become the star of Twisted Metal, which Calypso gladly grants. At first revered by the chaos he created, as time went on Sweet Tooth became jealous of Calypso, until he decides to initiate a coup d'état helped by a group of midget clowns, and takes control of Twisted Metal. It is also discovered that Calypso's source of powers comes from a mysterious ring that consumes the souls of those who die, increasing his strength and youth, and Sweet Tooth having taken it, finds that he possess the same abilities as Calypso to grant wishes. He tends to cheat people with their wishes like Calypso does as well.

The game takes place in the streets of Los Angeles on Christmas Eve, 2005. The contest featured in the game is the tenth annual running of the competition thus far. The first level, the "Arena", is an underground arena in which the player and a single opponent face off for the right to compete in Twisted Metal. The second level, "Warehouse District Warfare", takes place in the warehouse district of downtown Los Angeles and features three opponents that the player must defeat. The third level, "Freeway Free for All", takes place on the freeways of Los Angeles and features five opponents that the player must defeat. The fourth level, "River Park Rumble", takes place in Beverly Hills and features six opponents that the player must defeat. The fifth and largest of the six levels, "Cyburbia", takes place in the suburbs and features eight opponents that the player must defeat. The sixth and final level, "Rooftop Combat", takes place on the rooftops of Los Angeles' tallest skyscrapers. After defeating three opponents, the player must face Minion, the winner of the previous year's Twisted Metal contest. The game is won when Minion is defeated.
