Taiko Drum Master is an entry in Namco's Taiko No Tatsujin rhythm game series and the first to have a Western release. As in other rhythm games, the goal is to interact with a special controller according to scrolling onscreen prompts timed to music. This game comes bundled with the TaTaCon drum controller, a miniature version of a Japanese taiko drum with sensors in the middle and on the sides. In-game actions are indicated by scrolling circle icons. Red circles indicate hitting the center of the drum, while blue circles require the player to hit the edge. On big circles, the player can hit both center or edge sensors for bonus points. Finally, yellow lines and balloons require the player to perform drum rolls. The game comes with a varied set of tunes: from covered pop hits like Material Girl and ABC to music from other Namco games such as Katamari Damacy and Dragon Spirit and even television theme songs. In addition, there are also several mini-games included on the disc that use the TaTaCon for more esoteric purposes, such as watermelon eating and wolf-stacking.

Taikou Risshiden (太閤立志伝) is a simulation game by Koei in their Rékoeition series. It was first released in 1992 on various Japanese computers before being ported to a variety of platforms, including a 1993 port to the Sega Mega Drive that was not released outside Japan.

In Tail of the Sun, you are a caveman in prehistoric times. Your mission: to build an ivory tower of mammoth tusks tall enough to reach the tail of the sun. You are to develop your caveman tribe by hunting, swimming, running, climbing, and taking on other activities to raise your physical or mental attributes. You must venture off into a vast, untamed world to explore harsh terrains that consist of deserts, caves, forests, and ocean floors. The player's ultimate objective is to build a tower of mammoth tusks that reaches the sun. To this end, he or she must gather enough food for the tribe to thrive and multiply, while exploring a large map full of various creatures and oddities.

Taito are the original coin-op arcade masters and have always been at the forefront of arcade gaming, with many of the original and most memorable classics coming from their design stables.
