The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madrock is a side-scrolling platformer that includes several board game elements. On a world map, Fred and Barney throw dices to determine how many fields they can move.

The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak is a platform video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System created and published by Taito Corporation in 1994. The Game is slated for Wii And 3DS Virtual Console re-released on europe,2012. It is the second licensed game based on the 1960s Flintstones television series (the first being The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy). This game was never released in Japan unlike its prequel. It was released only to Blockbuster Video in August 1994. In this game, the player can switch playable characters between both Fred and Barney, and they both have different attacks and abilities; in the original, the only playable character is Fred. It is known to be the second rarest commercially-released licensed title for the NES (behind Stadium Events) due to being a Blockbuster-rental only game and copies on eBay rarely go below $200 USD.

The gameplay is preceded by a short movie which sets the stage. A man from the 30th century kidnaps Dino and Hoppy, the two pets the Flintstones and the Rubbles. Dino belongs to Fred and Wilma, and Hoppy is the pet of Barney and Betty. Fred's alien friend, Gazoo, lost parts of his time machine due to the evil man from the future.

Prehistoric times, beware -- The Flintstones have invaded the bowling alley! Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, and Dino are taking advantage of a newly transformed Bedrock. That pesky alien Gazoo is always up to no good; now he's turned the entire town into massive bowling lanes complete with obtruding hazards and lots of rock!

The game is played from the typical platform style of the scrolling side on, 2D, 3rd person viewpoint. The player controls Flash though the levels in which they must achieve 2 primary goals. A) Find the switch which opens the level exit and then: B) make it to the exit within the time limit. There is also a secondary goal of collecting the gems that were stolen which increases the players score. If the player fails to make it to the exit within the time limit the FED tracks Flash down and kills him upon contact. While the player can run from the FED (giving them a last gasp effort to make it to the end of the level) due to the FED's ability to move over the screen regardless of the physical restraints that the player must encounter (e.g. walls) the player is eventually doomed to losing a life. The FED acts as a more realistic method for imposing a time limit rather than the player just suddenly dying like in many platform games of this era.
