This cartridge used the power pad and contained two games: "Short Order", is a Simon-like game in which you are given an order and need to make the burger exactly as the order says. "Eggsplode" is a game in which you must destroy bombs that a fox is placing underneath chicken nests before they explode without destroying the chickens or their eggs.

The aim is to shoot the discs on the screen so that you can acquire enough points to pass the clearing point score of that particular stage without your time or energy running out. You can choose between different difficulty levels. They affect the time you have to complete the stages. For difficulty level 1 you get 300 game time, difficulty level 2 gives you 250 and the 3rd difficulty level only 200. Items you can shoot during the game include an hourglass which extends time by 50, an E which gives you 100 points + 1 Energy bar, an E in a white square which gives you 100 points + 2 Energy bars, a Reverse E which gives you 1 Energy bar and C or W symbol which both give only 100 points each. Each disc you shoot above an enemy is worth between 100-500 points. The game contains three stages that involve a western, ghost house, and a space theme. There is also a bonus stage where you try to shoot as many bottles as possible. In the party game mode, you compete to have the highest score.

If you think this is just another shoot 'em up game, think again. Nothing demands more skill, more daring, more intense gameplay than SHOOTING GALLERY! And hopefully, you've got what it takes to survive. A keen eye. A steady hand. And the invincible Sega Light Phaser that actually records misses. If you aim straight and aim on target, just maybe you'll be able to shoot everything from iron-clad Spaceships to incredibly fast Blimps. But don't despair if the going gets tough. Because it gets tough for everyone.

The game reproduces many of the novel's "scenes", few of which are interconnected in any way. The player assumes the role of John Blackthorne, Pilot-Major of the Dutch trading ship Erasmus. During a voyage in the Pacific Ocean in the year 1600, the Erasmus is shipwrecked in Japan. Blackthorne must survive in a land where every custom is as unfamiliar to him as the language. After learning some of the society's ways, he is drawn into a political struggle between warlords and falls in love with a Japanese woman. Eventually he embraces Japanese life and is honored as a samurai.
