Speed is the name of the game in this realistic racing experience. Featuring nine unique vehicles, RALLY CHALLENGE 2000 delivers high-octane action, with plenty of options to keep the replay value high. The controls are simple, but the competition is stiff as you jet through the three tracks at three different levels of difficulty. To add to the excitement, your co-pilot is by your side, calling out turns and alerting you to what's around the corner. The game's four distinct play modes offer limitless challenges: there's a user-friendly Arcade mode, an intense four-player Versus mode, a convenient Practice mode, and a Championship mode which allows you to adjust your suspension, tires, gear ratios, and steering. Championship Mode the game's crown jewel presents you with a nine-race series, in which you must rack up more points than your competitors. If you're looking for a fast-moving racing game with tons of options, you've found it in RALLY CHALLENGE 2000.

Release Date: December 4, 1998   |   Genre: Fighting
Basics: The game is similar in play to a toned-down Marvel vs. Capcom. The button layout is the fighting game standard six-buttons (Three punches and three kicks.), which produce special moves when combined with various directional commands. All characters have a single-button attack that sends the opponent into the air, where they can pursue them and follow up with an aerial attack. Perhaps to complement this, each character can perform an additional jump while in the air. Magic: Super Combos in this game are referred to as "Magic" and a player can have up to three levels of Magic (Represented by three crayons that appear at the bottom of the screen.). Super Meter levels can be spent in three ways: Offense (An attack that causes heavy damage with a few hits.), Defense (An attack that causes little damage, but sends the opponent far away.) and Counter (Usable only while the character is blocking, causes medium damage and sends the opponent flying away, like Defense Magic.)

The basic premise of the game is that each level is an island which is slowly sinking into the sea. The player must therefore get to the top of each level, by jumping on platforms and making use of the game's most distinctive feature: the ability to produce solid rainbows, which are used both as platforms to stand on, and as a weapon.

Rainbow Islands Extra (レインボーアイランド エキストラ) is a strange update to Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, released by Taito for arcades in 1988 before being ported to the Sega Mega Drive in 1990 exclusively in Japan. Although it offers a port of the original Rainbow Islands, the default option is the "extra" mode, in which all the cute and colourful enemies found in the original game are replaced with enemies found in Taito's shoot-'em-up series, Darius. The music in extra mode has also been replaced with tunes from that game. The rules are otherwise the same as in the original - create rainbows to defeat enemies and reach the top of the screen. The story for both modes is the same: Bubby's friends have been captured and turned into Bubble Dragons by Super Skull Monsta [sic], and Bubby needs to save them by destroying the Super Skull Monsta's minions with rainbows and collecting Little Diamonds to get Magical Mirrors needed to break the spell. Rainbow Islands Extra was only released in Japan.
