An evil Bishop has abducted Adelle, a mysterious young woman with divine powers. With his entourage of disciples and their captive Adelle, he embarks on an Unholy crusade, moving along the initial routes of the historic crusades. By misusing Adelle's powers against her will, he plans to complete the Unholy Circle and to perform dark rituals at sacred places to desecrate them. This way he intends to eventually unlock and gain access to the Gateway to Hell.

Knights of the Round is an arcade game released by Capcom in 1991. Somewhere between heaven and the underworld--in the center of a quiet lake--stood an ancient castle known as Aventheim. One night, without warning, denizens of the netherworld emerged and slaughtered the kingdom; nary a soul was left alive. Within an abandoned, long-forgotten church deep in the woods, a wisp is set free. Bereft of memory, it is drawn toward a monster-infested castle and re-awakens the souls of vanquished knights, leading them back towards the fallen stronghold to confront the very forces of evil that took their lives.

A violent hack-and-slash title set in a medieval land ruled by spells and steel, Knights Contract has you guiding immortal executioner Henrich and resurrected witch Gretchen from a third-person perspective. The two are pressed into battle primarily to rid the land of evil witches that are threatening the local population. Yet the relationship between Henrich and Gretchen is far from cordial. Henrich originally killed Gretchen, but not before she cursed him. To end the curse, Henrich agrees to help the resurrected Gretchen in a quest to stop her fellow witches from upending the world. Henrich wields a giant scythe while Gretchen uses spells to defeat an assortment of dark creatures. Players will control Henrich as the computer assists in combat with Gretchen, with team-based moves and combos possible for more powerful attacks. While Henrich cannot die, his soul is linked to Gretchen's through a blood pact, so he must protect her if he wants to rid himself of the curse once and for all.
