Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is a head-to-head fighting game produced by Capcom originally released as a coin-operated arcade game in 1993. It is the fourth arcade version of Street Fighter II produced, following the original Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting. In addition to refining and balancing the existing character roster from the previous installments, Super Street Fighter II also introduced four new characters. It was also the first game to be developed on Capcom's CP System II hardware, which permitted more sophisticated graphics and audio over the original CP System hardware, used by the previous versions of Street Fighter II.

Super Street Fighter II X for Matching Service is a fighting game developed by Capcom, and one of many updates to the popular fighting game, Street Fighter II. This version was released for the Sega Dreamcast exclusively in Japan in 2000. It is an enhanced port of Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge, known as Super Street Fighter II Turbo in the west. The game is virtually identical to other ports of Super Street Fighter II X/Super Street Fighter II Turbo, but is compatible with Capcom's "matching service", meaning players can compete online.

It is an updated version of Street Fighter IV and has been said to mark the definitive end of the Street Fighter IV series. Having been deemed as too large an update to be deployed as DLC, the game was made into a standalone title, but given a lower price than that of a full retail game. It was released on April 27, 2010 in North America, April 28, 2010 in Japan, and April 30, 2010 in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
