Ace Combat makes its first trip on the Playstation 2. It's real world dog-fighting with a collection of the best fighter jets on the planet including the F-22 Raptor, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-117 Nighthawk, U-2 Dragon Lady, C-130 Hercules and SR-71 Blackbird. 18 missions will take you from search and destroy buildings to one-on-one and all-on-all dog-fighting. Ace Combat is the perfect game to have while on the move. Think about it – when you're a kid, you run around holding your arms out pretending to be a fighter plane, right? Or was that just us? Either way, having an airborne action game of this pedigree on the PSP is never unwelcome, and Joint Assault marks the first time the series has hit the handheld since Ace Combat X in 2006. So what's changed? Well, certainly not the midair firefights and frenzied atmosphere – although the visuals have been overhauled and the combat system completely redesigned to provide a closer, more visceral flight experience. While some plane games focus on simulation, Ace Combat focuses on accessibility and fun, without losing authenticity. You get to jet over plenty of real-world locations including Tokyo, London, San Francisco and more, as you take on missions to smash enemy fighter pilots out of the sky. Tactical dogfighting is the name of the game here, and the 'Enhanced Combat View' takes advantage of the huge aerial environments to provide an exhilarating atmosphere as you deliver that ace shot at high speed. When you're done with the single-player missions, get online for some multiplayer gameplay, which allows for up to eight players in an online versus scenario, or four pals in a co-op campaign.

Ace Driver made extensive use of the CPU Assist technique whereby a trailing player would be given a significant speed boost to allow them to catch the leading player. However, the speed boost continued for a short while after the losing player had overtaken the leader - leading to a tactic known as boosting where a player would deliberately allow themselves to lose the lead, then during the last half of the last game lap would easily take back the lead with no hope of the opposing player catching them. Boosting also meant that straight skill races were difficult to have as CPU assist would be continually changing the losing players speed and position.

Ace of Aces puts you in the cockpit of the Mosquito, the maverick RAF fighter bomber of World War II. It's white-knuckle aerial combat simulation, combining the exhilaration of flight with the gut-wrenching pressure of enemy confrontation. During World War II, Mosquitos downed 659 enemy aircraft and 500 V-1 Buzz Bombs. Your only allies are your wits, your weapons, and your radar. Are you equal to the challenge? Down the Nazi bombers, sink the U-boats, outrun the V-1 Buzz Bombs and stop the enemy trains to release the POWs. Should you fly through a storm or around? Navigate carefully, consult your intelligence reports and maps to make a decision. Choose your weapons and fuel wisely--once you're on a mission there's no going back. An independently-created game crafted using a voxel engine (similar to Minecraft,) Ace of Spaces is a multiplayer shooter offering sandbox elements in addition to online combat. Choose between a Blue and Green Team and battle it out in rivers and on mountains in a cuboid world where you can create shelters, tunnels, and bases with the ultimate goal of eliminating the enemies and capturing their intel.

Fans of classic aircraft take to the skies in Aces of the Air for the PlayStation. Pilot the vintage fliers in realistic 3D combat missions featuring old-school dogfighting techniques and ground combat. Each successfully completed mission earns players a new plane, all created with their own strengths and weaknesses. Those a bit nervous about the first flight will be happy to know a training mode teaches new fliers the basics of vintage aircraft control. Aces of the Air features realistic, 3-D flight simulation, with a focus on dogfighting techniques using vintage aircraft. Missions include aerial combat, strafing ground troops and materiel, and taking out heavily fortified enemy positions.
